Aqua Club Recap and looking ahead to Sand Point

Barracudas!

What a great first meet we had! We had a little bit of rain and sunshine as we traveled to Aqua Club to take on their swimmers! A special congratulations to our first time swimmers and our veterans for helping guide them through their first meet! We were loud and proud yesterday up until the very last event! Attached are the meet results, please reach out with any questions.

A special shout-out to everyone who stepped up to help as Age Group Coordinator last night, including a lot of first-timers. Thank you for getting our younger swimmers to the blocks on time — it makes a huge difference.

Now that the first meet is behind us, we're laser-focused on hosting our first home meet of the season — against Sand Point, Tuesday June 30th. We'll share more details on logistics next week, but two things to highlight ahead of the weekend:

1) Meet Entry Sign-Ups Due Monday at 12pm

Please take a moment now to enter your swimmers in the meet. Sign up on the Sand Point meet entry page, or check out instructions for how to sign up if you need a refresher. Bonus points if you take two extra minutes and sign up for the rest of the meets this season while you're at it! You can optionally indicate event preferences too.

2) Please Volunteer!

Many of you have already signed up — some families are even working multiple shifts — thank you! But we still need more help to be fully staffed for the meet. We're looking for 15 more timers, several more ribbon distributors, concessions helpers, age group coordinators, and stroke and turn judges. Visit the Sand Point volunteer sign-up page to grab a shift, or browse all roles on the Volunteer page.

If you're interested in joining the Deck Crew and learning a specialized role like stroke and turn, computer operations, or clerk of course, let us know! These roles are easier to pick up than they look, and growing our bench means more flexibility for everyone down the road.

Finally, concession donations are open, with 19 items currently available to donate.

Congratulations again on a successful start to meet season — looking forward to bringing the energy back to Blue Ridge and hosting Sand Point on Tuesday!

As always, reach out to me or [email protected] with any questions.

Go Cudas!

This week's featured food truck is Thai U Up, serving up delicious Thai favorites from 5:00–8:00 PM. We'll have tables set up, so bring your family, friends, and appetite! It's a great chance to enjoy a meal outdoors and connect with neighbors.
